The functional assessment is a ranking and grading system designed to document certain movement patterns that are key to everyday activities. By screening these patterns, functional limitations or asymmetries can be easily identified. Basic limitations to any of these movement patterns can reduce the effectiveness of sports training, physical conditioning, and distort body awareness.
